This casting is a depiction of a 1966 Fiat 500F modifed for racing, with modifications like a lowered stance, removed bumpers, gutted interior, and the rear hood opened to expose the engine and to act as a “spoiler” of sorts. While this casting is named the 500D, it is actually based on the 500F, as the casting has regular doors, while the actual 500D has suicide doors. The 500D was produced from 1960 to 1965, while the 500F, the actual model the casting is based on, was produced from 1965 to 1972.
